Ronald Reagan.
He got us through and out of the cold war!
It's funny, who was president before Reagan? Carter. What did we enjoy? High gas prices, Iran conflict, the cold war.
Who was president before 9/11? Clinton. With what president has the Dow been the highest? Bush.
Is it just me or do when democrats enter the presidential office the market just shrinks and our enemies freely prepare to battle against us?
Long live Reaganomics!!! I can make it to the top and I don't need the govt to help me do it (just B2 bombers, M1 tanks, highways, nuclear energy, low oil prices, and public education).

Washington, Lincoln, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Jefferson.
All the others fall into a lower tier, if only because the issues they dealt with don't rise to the same level of importance as the circumstances faced by these four.

Whatever you do, don't select ABRAHAM LINCOLN. He declared war on his own people, approved General Sherman to rape and kill southern women and children. Imprisoned journalists who opposed his administration. Imprisoned the lawyers who took a stand for those journalists. He raised taxes (i know thats not shocking), the first to change the constitution (it was not in his power to do so), he's also the one who started the draft! His battle tactics on civilians were beyond brutal. He is a destroyer of our amendments and our bill of rights. He is the reason why this country is an Empire and not a republic. His "emancipation proclamation" NEVER freed a single slave, it was a public relations ploy. He held not so flattering views of the black community..
his quote: "I will say that I am not nor ever have been in favor of bringing about.. the social and political equality of the white and black races" -Abraham Lincoln.
I tell you sir, it would be UNAmerican of you to appoint Mr. Lincoln as the "greatest" president "of all time".
My opinion,
Thomas Jefferson - a true American forefather and patriot.

Lincoln. But Truman isn't far behind, or Wilson. All thinkers and scholars that left a lasting mark. Lincoln welcomed his former enemies and opposition into his cabinet, realizing the need to weigh all points of view to make the best decision possible and apart from politics.
