It is a statistical fact that the stronger a democracy a country is, the less likely they will go to war with other democracies. Do you think peace is possible through the proliferation of democracies?

"It doesn't matter. You cannot just go around making other countries democracies. "
Right, that would just make too much sense. It is much better to leave people in darkness and toil while we rise above them.

"The Darfur situation originated from farmers and shepherds, both under the same islamic values / govt, etc"
The Darfur situation is between Arabs and Africans. The Arab government is doing their best to exterminate the native africans. It's genocide and ethnic clensing. I have no idea where you got your information, nor do I have any idea how it is relevant to democratic peace theory.

"The USA has been at war with 5 of it's neighbors since WWII?"
When did we go to war with Canada or Mexico? You might make an argument that we went to war with Cuba but it would be shaky. In any effect, democratic peace theory states that democracies tend not to go to war with EACH OTHER. It is very obvious that democracies still manage to get into wars with non-democracies.

It doesn't matter. You cannot just go around making other countries democracies. It is true...you cannot go making other countries into democracies just because you feel that it is the right type of government for those people. You need to leave other countries alone. You cannot change the opinions of people who have lived int the area for years. You need to let them establish their own form of government that will work for them...no matter how much you like democracy it does not mean it is right for every country.

That seems to be a bit of a loaded question.
For example, what we are doing today in Iraq is not spreading democracy. You can not spread democracy at gunpoint in a foreign land as an occupier.
Democracy is seized, sometimes at gunpoint. Democracy is something that the people have to want.
In the middle east, democracy is essentially a theocracy with elections. Try browsing some of their constitutions.
I, unfortunately, believe that as long as the planet is inhabited by humans peace can never be achieved. Our species is to immature to achieve peace unless we can evolve beyond religion and develop renewable resources for energy and food.

even if all countries had the exact same style of democratic government, same morals and values, and even religion, there would still be competetition over limited resources, which would lead to war. The Darfur situation originated from farmers and shepherds, both under the same islamic values / govt, etc..., sharing a water source, which dried up in a drought. competition over this diminishing resource soon turned armed, and now its a huge international crisis. human beings will always find something to fight about.

We sure don't have a Democratic peace under the GOP in the USA. You are right about the statistics.
Maybe the answer lies in the stability of peace in Europe vs. the USA?
The USA has been at war with 5 of it's neighbors since WWII?
Europe has had one internal war since then.
No European Army has crossed borders on their continent without the urging of NATO since then. And then only once.
What does that say about the stability of the Democracies in their region?

I'm sorry but there is never going to be total peace in this world. There will always be war no matter how hard you wish! There will always be evil, sin, jealousy, greed, etc. and these things cause wars. It might be a strong democracy helps a little but someone will mess it up.

Yes, of course.
However democracy means equality for all. Muslim women are second class citizens. How can you convince a man that a woman has the right to vote, when his law says he can bear her w/ a club if he sees an ankle?

that is the principle of why we are in Iraq, and why we want all the world to be democracies...because as a result this world would be more peaceful!

The future has already been decided by the illuminati. All future presidents will be picked based upon how well they can lie to the American people, as well as how well they can sleep at night knowing they are killing American citizens every day -on purpose.
