Then turned on system 2 C if I messed up my moms system & the sprinkler wont pop up & I can feel & hear mud inside. What should I do & how do I keep mud from taking over the whole system?

You probably have already done this, but:
Use a shovel to dig a five gallon hole around the sprinkler you want to repair. Remove that sprinkler. Open the valve that runs the water for that pipe, for the mud to flush out. Run a couple seconds till the water runs clear, shut it off. Bail out the water. Thread in a riser. Repeat flush method above. Now thread in your sprinkler. Test system before continuing.
Now it works. Bail out remaining water, backfill and get paid.

you could do two things here

1. unscrew the top part of the head and take out the guts filter and all and blow the water through for just a second or two to clean out all the junk in the line. ( this would just be cleaner because most of the water wont rush junk backinto the head if you do this right). then clean the filter of the head and put it back together.

2. dig a big hole and/or get a pump of some kind to pump the water out and make sure nothing gets in the line when you blow it out and just thread on the new one. we carry manual pumps on all of our trucks.

this should be an easy fix my friend.

A very easy fix. Unscrew it and take the head off and blow it out with your mouth or use a opened paper clip to clean it out. Mine does that often. Run a strong stream of water on it too. Also, before you replace it turn the system on and let the mud and gunk run out before you replace the head.

My wife knows that there is nothing worse than honest constructive criticism after a long hard effort and would rather wait for me to realize my own mistake. I however am not that tactful and would point it out.
