i've never really had a best friend besides my sister. why can't i make friends? any suggestions?

Try meeting new people who share your interests, ambitions, dreams, etc. Or just go out and try meeting new people. What's wrong with being best friends with your sister? I would much rather have a sister than a brother.

are u shy?if u're not then start joining in more activities. don't be afraid to strike a conversation with a stranger. once you've made an acquaintance look at them in the eye and pay attention to what they're saying. see if they have any similarities with you and just go from there...smile! it's really important so people won't think u're arrogant and don't choose who u wanne b friends with n who u don't. friends come in unexpected places.

Are you mean to ppl? Do u smell? (sorry to ask) but are u SUPER SUPER SUPER ugly? do u avoid social contact or super shy?
if u answer yes to any of the questions above, thats basically the reason.
i assume your really shy, just open out more. say hi to random ppl, always smile. be funny and say jokes, be nice and FRIENDLY to everyone..pretty soon u will have a bunch of friends
don't ever go up to someone and ask to be there friend

"can i be your friend?" is a total NO NO
be more like "want to team up for science class?"

The best way of making friends is to be interested in what people do, how they feel, what their concerns are, and so on. Once you start sharing their concerns, they will be interested in you.

How old are you? You should just be who you are, don't be jealous of your sister just because she has friends...sometimes the friends you think she have just may not be her friends at all. Depending on your age you may not understand that phrase.

In my case, I usually finds it easier to befriend people who shares the same interest as me. If they don't then they'll usually finds me boring as I'm not good in socializing anyway.
Socializing itself is something that you learn by doing it. Start off by mixing around with people that you feel confident with.
