American men are scared of intelligent and capable women. They'd rather have a buffoon like George W.

Never elected one. Previously, women were too smart to consider running for President. Lately, the lure of power and money is attracting some candidates.

Because females know nothing about diplomacy. They wouldn't be sure when to start wars. They would focus too much on diplomacy, in todays world, that doesn't work. You have to destroy people who don't want universal freedom. Women are stay at home moms and there are more men interested in politics than women.
I wonder in the future if a female president can be just as bad as our current president bush. Now that would be some interesting bad history for our books LOL!

Well Walter Mondale lost a lot of votes for having a woman as the VP nom back in 1984. I am not sure times have shanges all that much since. Most people are rather parochial and will never want a woman in the whitehouse, particularlay in the south and mid west bible belt area. They are a bunch of backwaters.

That's a good question, given that third world countries are more progressive in this aspect. Maybe because they are more dominated by multi-ethnicity. Perhaps that helps to break down sexual barriers as well. Just a guess.

A viable female hasn't run yet. And we vote for the person, not for the gender.

There is a 40-year lag time. Universities & especially grad school were very male dominated 40 years ago. A lot of us were stay-at-home moms too.
What we see now is actually a reflection of who got their political life started at age eighteen.

Because women take 4 hours to get ready every morning and a president has to make decisions faster then that.
