He is really bloated form one side only and has raised scales only on that part. I'm really worried he might be getting an infection in the raised scales. I want to add some aquarium salt to prevent infections but will the aquarium salt worsen his constipation? I heard that salt can worsen the water retention is this true?

I'm not gonna feed him for 3 days then
I'll feed him a deshelled pea with an epsom chrystal
and follow with peas the next 3 days.
Is this correct?

Yep you are correct, pea and the epsom salt will help if it's constipation. Don't add regular aquarium salt in case it is constipation, or even dropsy, could make it worse. Epsom is good for those, because it helps draw the fluids and such out, where as regular salt retains it.
