Yep, I quit a $300+/day drug addiction all on my own years ago and I quit smoking for 11 months on my own. I guess the smoking doesn't really count because I started again, but with the drugs, I quit cold turkey., I just got to a point where I wanted my life back and wanted to have some self respect again. I don't believe that drug rehab works. I believe that most people who go to rehab do so out of some sort of obligation under threat of arrest, divorce, etc. I believe that people quit when they, themselves, want to quit and not before. I know it's stupid to smoke, and I know I can quit because I did it for 11 months and didn't have a problem with it then. I just don't want to right now. I use all kinds of excuses, but the truth of the matter is, I just don't want to quit yet. When I'm ready, I'll put the pack aside again and that will be that.

The last time I quit smoking about 20 years ago now, I used hypnotism. I had tried a bunch of different programs and nothing else worked. I quit doing drugs the same day. I was a meth freak back then. I still have an occasional beer, haven't been drunk since my 50th birthday party.

But seriously, smoking was the toughest of all. If you can make it a week, you can make it forever. Just be firm. Drugs, that's another choice to make. It's up to you to decide that it's over. Here's something to think about, the amount of money you spend on cigarettes and drugs could probably be a car in a year if you saved it all. Good luck.

I quit smoking on my own (cold turkey as the saying goes) about 14 months ago. I still miss it when I go out drinking/dancing, which is almost every weekend.

I certainly believe the different posters. It relies upon on your reason in the back of quitting. in case you merely give up on account which you felt it became the main suitable element to do, yet weren't a hundred% into quitting, you will probable start up back. additionally, your pals are a extensive impression and it extremely is extremely perplexing to hold close out with people who're nonetheless smoking/doing drugs and not experience the rigidity or opt to do it - it extremely is organic, yet try to be on top of issues and prefer all different poster reported, get faraway from that crowd. have faith me, some acquaintances will consistently be around, yet many will basically be on your existence for a little while. it extremely is greater ideal to diminish them loose now, particularly in the event that they impression you to make undesirable selections. The funniest element I submit to in recommendations approximately quitting smoking and ingesting became the top of ways plenty time I had. that stands out the main. i will submit to in recommendations sitting around and merely understanding how plenty time I wasted whilst i became intense. So, you ought to locate issues to occupy some time. Get out and connect a activities team or video games or college or some thing. once you have sufficient to do, you mustn't usually have time to think of approximately those issues. additionally, do not beat your self up. once you're arranged to give up, you will. The final time I smoked, i've got self belief I hit a cigar that became laced with some thing (my acquaintances have been into heavier drugs). It became freaky and entirely incorrect - a terrible journey, however the main suitable element is, I never picked it up back and that i've got self belief superb approximately that. It became taking on my existence. Be good and guard your self. in the top you will make the main suitable determination for you.

I quit smoking on my own. I was tired of it, tired of the smell, and generally just trying to be healthier in my life. The worst was while I was driving...I just switched to other things..getting a snack on the way to work instead of smoking, drinking a soda...etc.
