animal control doesn't do house calls where I live, and if they did it's really late, and it would take 3 hours to get someone here

Open the window or door (preferably door) and then gently shove the bristles of a broom under it. Bats cannot get up on their own but need to climb. If it hooks onto the bristles, then carry it out and lift the broom so that it can "fall" off and take to the air. Do not touch it or allow it to get close to you. And please don't kill it. The poor thing is as freaked s you are.

Open the window and let it out. It will cirle around the room for a while and then hide on the wall and hide from you. All it wants to do is eat some bugs. I have had 100s of them in my house. (I live next to a river with no screens.)

Seriously? Call animal control, do not try to catch it or shoo it out of your house.

Catch it and bite it's head off and say you are Ozzy Osborne.

No. Seriously, catch it with a net and don't touch it coz you dont want to be possibly exposed to rabies. Carefuly turn it loose outside.

Close it off in the room that it's in and open the window or door. It's using it's echolocation to find an opening and it should be able to find it quickly and fly out on it's own.

open the windows and doors, close all other unecessary bedroom/bathroom/watever doors, get a broom, start swinging and hope for the best. or you can go the hard route and call pest control.

wait till its dark, turn on all the lights and open the windows. since bats like the dark and are nocturnal hopefully it will fly right outside.
