if its a chevrolet truck, autos sometimes will have a bolt in the pan that takes a 15mm, allison transmission have an external filter and the others are in the bottom of the trans and pan removal is needed, manual transmissions have a plug on the bottom to drain and one on the side to fill 17mm allen, some manuals take a special fluid ( syncromesh )

NO. The transmission fluid is red and the differential brown. The weights are different too. Most tranny's require you to remove the filter cover to drain a major amount of fluid. The differential is on the rear axle. The filter is that little rectangle on the bottom of the tranny with about 12 bolts around it.
If you had to ask, I would not attempt it.
But if you do, Use the fluid for your vehicle make.

Transmissions no longer have a drain plug. You have to remove the entire pan to service the trans and filter. Once the pan is off, you will see the filter.

what kind of car/truck are we dealing with because they are nowhere near the same on all models. Most automatics don't have drain plugs and the filter is above the inspection pan Manuel's have drain plugs on the bottom but no filters

the drain plugs on chevy is on the bottom in the very back and the transmission filter is under the pan..which means you have to take pan off..hope this helps..aslo dont know what year vehicle is but the chevy has a special plug tool remover i think it's 17m plug remover tool..it looks like a octagon

in order to drain the transmission fluid removal of the transmission pan is needed , its the only way .good luck

No drain plug........remove the bolts in the pan and you will find the filter, just remember to install the gasket the right way please or you will be back here asking why it doesnt go and we will say because its sucking air in passed the filter

The diff plug drains both box and diff housing, to refill you have to remove the gear selector housing and refill with a set quantity of oil, there is no filler / level plug.
