Hi i own a hp pavilion dv6253cl laptop, and it cannot handle alot of games because of the shitty nvidia graphics card. how will i go about getting a new nvidia or ati graphics card? is it possible?

Upgrading laptops is highly impractical in most cases with the exception of RAM and Hard Drive capacity. I looked up the specifications for your computer. It runs and onboard Nvidia Geforce go 6150. This is not a horrible card as built in cards go but really not to good for most video games.
If this were an Intel 900 or 950 series video card chipset, it would have a PCI-Express slot on the Mobo. This is usually not the case with GeForce cards. Even then, getting a card that would fit inside your case (they cram those things in there good) would be difficult at best. Impossible at worst.
Since the specs do not list a PCI, AGP or PCI-X slot, I would say you will not be capable of adding a better video card to this system.

graphic on a laptop are fixed and cannot be upgraded at all
mine has the nvidia go 7300 128mb ram
i ditched vista ( which will be your fist thing you should do if your a gamer as most games still do not take full advantage of direct x 10 ), reformatted and installed xp pro sp2and if you are a direct x 10 gamer / vista user, then you have the wrong laptop
you should be getting a sli based dell xp or alien ware based system not some bargain based laptop with decent graphics
