Warm rain? What is that? Summer temperatures of 60's and lower 70's are very normal here, even when the temp has been up in the 80's it drops immediately when there's any rain.
I do hate raincoats, but it gets too cold to wear wet clothing at those temperatures.

Only East Asians use umbrellas during sunny days ( Koreans, Singaporeans, etc)..they do not want to get "dark". Plenty of countries actually re : raincoats : the British Isles, countries in the southern hemisphere when summer is actually winter, countries with "rainy seasons" located usually close to the Equator. as to the rest : flashers lol !

here in sub-tropical weather when it rains people don't use raincoats...in hurricanes though they do (and it's usually by people in the media who are reporting on the storms). Otherwise we just wear short windbreakers if there's a breeze (some look as though they are plastic coated, and some even have a hood, those with a hood like for jogging are called hoodies).

Well, it's a good way to hide a shotgun.
When I was doing security consulting that was one of the things we taught folks to look out for. It's an instant redflag!
Now for a legitimate reason... I'd suggest you try getting drenched in a Gulf Coast thunderstorm! You'll soon learn that with the high humidity down there you won't cool off and in an hour or two you'll smell like mildew!
Sweaty and hot beats sweaty, hot and stinking of mold any day!

Not everyone I know does. Maybe the others just don't want to get their clothes wet?
