It would take 10 months to withdraw. So, sure, Bush will probably try to accomplish as much as possible in the time he has left, and possibly initiate the 10 month plan towards the end, but if we get a democrat they will definetly start the 10 month plan. So Hillary will still have the troops in Iraq for a bit.

The Middle East has bee fighting each other for thousands of years.I predict aftere a dem. president is in office in 08' that administration will begin to pull troops out, however, the 'tension' between the varioucultures there, along with ther'yre basic hatred for the U.S will continue to escalate. It's a religious war, like the cristian crusades a thousand years ago.

Wind down--that's nuts. We have been at war every few years with radicals. Bush said at the very beginning that this would be a "l o n g war".

When Bush leaves office, the muslim terrorists still hate us and will consider it a victory and move closer towards their goal - "Death to America".

I think we are there in large order for the next 18-24 months.

Bush leaving will change the relationships.

I'm sure some people do, but I certainly don't.

There's a reason the democrats want us out right before the next general election. They know it would be dumb to execute such a massive exist.

Personally, I would love to see this war "wind down."
However, under no circumstance what so ever can we afford to let this war wind down in defeat - not unless we want to continue it in the future.

yes. i'm not really into politics but i blame bush for everything that has happened with the war, gas prices, etc.
and i know other people will say it's not his fault, blahblahblah, but he's in charge of the country. he should step in and try to do something about the downward spiral that this country is on.

The troops will come home only if the people who paid for the politicains want them home. Dems or Cons they are all the same.

Iran has stated their goals of "helping" Iraq once the U.S. leaves.

We aren't going anywhere pal.
