I have a summer assignment..and i cant seem to figure out this question, if anyone knows it, please post the letter answer you think it is.

Prior to 1630, the life of most settlers in the Virginia Colony was
A) about as good as that of them ost other English, Dutch, and French colonists
B) about as good as that in most of England
C) as bad as the life of Indians living under Spanish rule
D) Better than that of most in England

D - despite the hardships, they were still better off than almost all English.

Not A: Virginia was facing some tougher survival issues.
Not B: Virginians faced adversity, but unlike the average English had the opportunity to improve thier lot.
Not C: Indians under Spain were only marginally better than slaves around this time.

You wouldn't need to post this on Yahoo Answers if you payed attention during class. History isn't hard. You're just being lazy. You're given homework for a reason: to reinforce what you were supposed to learn in the classroom. By skipping this integral part of the learning process, you're only screwing yourself come test-time. It's okay to post one or two questions you're stuck on, but don't plagarize.
