They are also a train wreck for the economy. The democrats want to cut military spending and revert back to a static defensive military, much like the one when we got hit on 9-11. They cannot even recognize the global threat that Islamic terrorists pose upon the world. They just seem to appease and embolden the enemy. They defend the same people that want to blow up innocent people and everyone in the US. They speak on behalf of prisoners at gitmo.... and berate our troops at the same time, calling them terrorists, likening them to Nazi's, calling gitmo the Russian gulag equivalent.... WTF?! Whose side are they on?

Hitler was considered a non threat back in the late 20's early 30's. Look what he accomplished. Same goes for Islamic extremism. What do democrats think is going to happen if we ignore them, and continue to let them get stronger and more advanced?

Intelligent people have argued that a missle defense system is essentially destabilizing since it encourages nations that have missles to improve their arsenals.

Others argue that any kind of technological defense system that relies on our ingenuity rather than upon working relationships with others is first, isolationist, and second, destined to fail. From the Great Wall of China to the Maginot Line, isolationist defense has always failed. There is no reason to suspect our missle defense system and our attempts to build an iron-clad radiation detection curtain are going to upend history.

We've had some success in working well with others in the past. Perhaps the next administration will bring back that skill and commitment.

Finally, this is probably hard to hear, but when you mistake a source that is actually making fun of your own position (www.americaweakly.com) as a credible rendition of what you really believe, you need to objectively reassess either those beliefs or your critical thinking skills. Sorry.

I know you will get some thumbs down, but not from me. You are right, I mean exactly right. And with that so called dream team, wife and ? whatever. Both are anti war, always have been, can you imagine what our Defense could be cut down too this next time. Not only it is scary as heck, but even more scary that some people think those two are so great. Cut back defense and we will be slaughtered. US would be a fool to cut back on defense in all area's.

No, I would say not, the do-nothing-democrat congress, fooled the Americans into believing they would create a change of events - "New direction"

Now, the people can see for themselves how much they can "trust" the Democrats on their word. How much they trust them when the next the most critical election rolls around, let's just say we hope they have better sense than on the last one.

Hopefully American will wake up and see the real danger they pose to our Nation.

Okay, everything that you say comes from the NY Times, comes from EDITORIALS in the NYT. In case you didn't know it, editorials are opinions. (And we'[re all entitled to our own, aren't we??)

So, what was the Dem alternative? Did they cut missle defense in favor of something better? Did they neglect to pass these bills because NOT ENOUGH money was allocated in their opinions?
