I usually find yard sales by following brightly coloured signs posted on telephone poles. If they have good stuff I could spend anywhere from 5 dollars on up to 500. And I usually buy vintage stuff. Good records and nifty clothes.

I've found yard sales both ways... by newspaper ads and by just riding around on my bike in hopes of finding a couple good ones. That usually don't happen though, yet I did hit ONE good one last year. For question #2, I'll relate it to the first: I spent $75. I bought a Canon Rebel 'G' with a 35-80mm lens, a 75-300mm lens, film, and a camera bag. He wanted $100, but after taking care of bills etc. I didn't have that to my name! He wouldn't let me have it for $50 like I secretly wished, but everything worked and still works fine and dandy! The big lens sells brand new for about $150! I saw a bike I liked this summer at a yard sale, but the crazy mugs wanted $500 for this Bianchi. Who in the Sam Hill carries $500 around for a yard sale? I could get one new for less... though maybe not as good. That's my story!

If I'm looking for a yard sale, I just drive around the neighborhood looking for them. I never look in the paper.

I've spent hundreds at a yard sale.

Furniture mostly.

usually just driving around and seeing signs or looking in the newspaper

I usually don't spend more then $20 unless it is really nice furniture, or something I have been looking for or wanted for a while....usually you can haggle the price down, but if it's worth it I usually always get it

I love yard sales

I have one once a year or so to get rid of crap.

I find all of the books for my classroom at yardsales and thrift stores.... Check your newspaper or just drive around looking for signs.
