For celebrities to be acknowledged with some trophy, do they need some sucking up to the "you know who's" of showbiz.
For instance, daniel radcliffe seems to be granted terrible amounts of awards, although his acting seems to be debatable than his co-star Rupert grint, who seems to be a natural in Harry Potter movies yet has less nominations and awards. Im just wondering how this "AWARDS" thing goes as with all the other celebs? does anyone know?
I do feel some actors are understated..like Rupert Grint, who, for me personally is better of an actor than Radcliffe.

Money equals power and since celebs end up with a pile of money (except those that hire bad accountants) the public seems to pay attention to them. This can inflate the ego so they think that only their viewpoint is valid. This "power" can then be used to gain more attention which could influence the voters for the awards. The old saying is that any publicity - even bad - is good. The studios run more ads to try to gain votes for their movies since it almost always pays off at the box office. And then there are the true believers such as Susan Sarandon who will forgo a paycheck to support her causes.

As for Rupert, I think there is a lot of his natural self in his roll which makes it more believable. But the studio will promote its major star first.

Yes. Since they are all in a union they must show they are democrats or they may not work much. That is probably why they are so outspoken against Republicans, ratings.

They sure do have to suck up to everybody above them.

I guess it's worth it to them.
