CAR-FAX go to the web site. The VIN # to each car is how they track problems.
So you are ready to throw $3,000 down on a used car. Wouldn't you want to know XXX rental company owned the very nice low mile car that sat in the body shop for the last 6 months? After it was stolen used in a bank robery? Or ran low on oil and the repair shop had to wait for a wrecked car to get a used engine out of? Really worth the $20.

its called car-fax,and all it does is a back ground check on vehicles, and will tell you only what has been put against a vehicle,if any vehicle has been in a real bad accident and was repaired by the owner, and not added to a car-fax report it wont show it up,so many people now are getting ripped of,on these vehicles it isn't even funny, they think that because you did a check on the car its clean if nothing comes back on it, right now i know where three flood cars are from the south that got caught up in the hurricane, and none of them are listed on car-fax as ever having any problems, the reports aren't accurate,if any insurance company enters the information in on a car it will show up on a car fax report, other wise it wont be there, the vehicle will appear to have never had any damage to it,so don't totally trust these reports, they can be miss-leading,good luck on it.
