A cyst is like a pimple. It sounds like it is under control and being checked. Try to relax about it.

Sounds like the dr. is doing the right thing by having an ultrasound. It should prove conclusively that it either is a cyst or a tumor. If it's a cyst then they may do nothing at all or they may want to remove it. If it's a tumor then the dr. will send her to a specialist, an oncologist, who will then determine what the best avenue of treatment will be.
You and your Mom have my prayers for peace, calmness and a good report.

Cysts are nothing to worry about! I've had them before, it's really just like a little bump that grows on the ovary, it isn't like cancer or anything. She can take some pills it will go away very soon.

I had one the size of a baseball. They removed it with no problem. But I was also having a hysterectomy at the time due to fibroid in the uterus. There are lots of different treatments depending on the cyst and its size. Here is a web site that will hopefully answer all your questions. Don't worry she will be fine!

all women from time to time get a cyst on there ovary but sometimes they dont rupture when they are very very tiny and they can grow very large but it can be easily treated. i get them all the time but they always rupture before they get bigger than a quarter. she might feel some pain depending on how big it is. but i promise she will be perfectly fine. sometimes they rupture on there own and sometimes a doctor will do surgery and remove it. its a simple procedure just relax and maybe you can help your mom out around the house by cleaning a little. and if she has the surgery help her with cleaning and maybe fix her some food the first few days till she is up and moving around.

A cyst is just something that didn't release properly during her period. IT IS COMPLETELY NORMAL. Women get these ALL of the time, most don't know it. Usually it is resolved during their next few periods. It can cause pain and if it gets big enough it can burst, which is painful, but it does not cause any problems, is only painful.

Also, the ultrasound is the best way to diagnose it which is why she is getting it done.

A cyst is not anything to be worried about. I have hundreds of cysts on my ovaries(PCOS).
