I actually remember Clark Gable in Gone with the Wind even if I really didn't get that movie.
Clark Gable was born in Cadiz, Ohio, on February 1, 1901. His original name was probably William Clark Gable. When his mother died of brain tumor, his father re-married and they moved to the neighboring town of Hopedale, Ohio. When his father decided to try his hand at farming, the family moved to Ravenna, just outside of Akron.
Gable is best known for his performance in Gone with the Wind (1939), which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.
He died in Los Angeles, California in November 1960, the result of a fourth heart attack. Gable was in poor health from years of heavy smoking and drinking, and in the previous decade, had suffered two seizures which may have been heart attacks. Gable is interred in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California, beside Carole Lombard (his third wife).
Gable had a daughter, Judy Lewis the result of an affair with actress Loretta Young . He had a son, with wife Kay Spreckels, named John Clark Gable born on March 20, 1961, four months after Clark’s death. His last known location would be in Los Angeles, where he did some minor TV work before appearing in the film Bad Jim in 1990. Appearing in a supporting role as a western bandit, the 29-year-old John Clark Gable showed promise, but little has been seen of him since.

Combat America- a 1943 film produced by the United States Army Air Forces and starring Clark Gable. This wasn't a made up (per say) plot or a fictional movie for entertainment- the consequenses were real, because for those of you that didnt know this, Adolf Hitler esteemed Gable above all other actors; during the Second World War he offered a sizable reward to anyone who could capture and bring Gable unscathed to him. I am not placing Gable above any WW2 vet- they all took risks and some of these risks have gone un-noticed and un-sung. Many paid the ultimate price. I merely answered a question about Gable. Gable flew five combat missions, including one to Germany, as an observer-gunner in B-17 Flying Fortresses between May 4 and September 23, 1943, earning the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross for his efforts.
