I found a mag 22" lcd monitor on sale for $240 bucks. It has a 2 ms response and a 1400:1 ratio. It sounds great on paper but I can't find a review for it. Anyone know about it? How about the video7 22" with a 1000:1 ratio? is 1000:1 really that much more noticeable than 700:1?

the 1400:1 i think is the brightness (or contrast, i cant remember.. but its most likely brightness) ratio..

otherwise, I remember MAG's for thier stellar CRT's... I havent seen a whole lot of LCD's from them.. but if the LCD's are anywhere near as good as thier CRT's were.. you should be fine

I've heard of the MAG brand and thought them out of my price range back in the old days.

What I couldn't find was an online store in the US that still carries them. Company's website wasn't helpful in that, nor did they have a link to any reviews.

How's your German?
I recall a couple of highly advanced websites in Germany that review gear ... alas, I don't have them bookmarked because my German isn't useful at that level.

I have a Mag CRT monitor. I have used it for years and never had a problem.
