absolutely not. the only reason that stigma is attached to lawyers is because of how they defend their clients. They pull things out of their hats, and it may seem dirty, but they found loops holes in the law. its not the lawyers fault these loopholes exist, its the lawmakers.

Well, let me just put it to you this way: some are honest, and some are not. But what do I mean by this? You would not believe how evil many lawyers can get. They can be extremely manipulative. They try to persuade, using certain techniques. On the flip side, we try every possible means to reveal the truth. First, there is sarcasm. Then there is pleading the fifth... in other words, not revealing something for the sake of justice. Then there is the idea of coercion and "committing" some crime under duress. Truth becomes veiled when a person is hiding something. But why would anyone ever not tell the truth when something is important and has implications on others? When we find the truly guilty ones and the truly innocent ones, then we learn something about justice, the little dance I call truth. Not all lawyers are out to steal your money and run off with $1.1 billion. Law is complicated, and judgments can be unfair, but I do believe in the justice system. In the United States, we say one nation, under God. I would only wish that everyone in the world would not only believe in a God, but be on His side... to be defenders of the truth, and to be stewards of love. In the end, we are revealed who was honest, and who was lying all along.

That's hard to answer. On one hand, when you need a lawyer, you'd want him ruthless, using tactics that will win your case. On the other hand, No one wants to be battered in court by a ruthless lawyer. If you are innocent but the odds are against you...a crook for a lawyer would be nice. If your child was guilty of a crime, you'd want him to get off or at least as little punishment as possible. Does this make them crooks?

No.

I have worked with lawyers for the last 13 years. In my experience, most lawyers enjoy helping people, and that is why they got into the industry in the first place. There are some exceptions, most frequently in certain practice areas.

I think that any generalization like this is usually just someone who didn't get what they want and now they want to get even with them.

Desilu couldn't be more wrong. Pulling things out of a hat are ONE thing but when lawyers do not provide a rigourous defense because of money THAT IS wrong. Money talks and you-know-what walks.

No. Some of them help a lot of people get money that they deserve (such as getting money from some drunk idiot that hits their car or something.) I guess that there would be plenty of dishonest ones out there due to how many there are, but the majority of them are just in their profession to practice law and make money off of it...

It seems, that lawyers have no fear of swimming in the coastal waters along Floridas Atlantic coast. They will swim, even while life guards are posting shark warnings.

One such individual was over heard to have said, 'they won't bother us, it's professional courtesy !"

I don't think so. I'm a lawyer, and I'm honest.

Have been ever since I understood what W.C. Fields meant when he said "You can't cheat an honest man."
