I say save your money. I have seen guys mod these V6's and they always sound too high pitched. You already know that if you want V-8 sound, get a V-8.

Without something drastic like a turbo or supercharger, that Camaro of yours will not improve much on HP with all the mods you are talking about. You are also talking about a lot of money. You would be better off saving up and buying an LS-1 Camaro, if you want to stick with a Camaro. Bone stock, the LS-1 is a beast that your V-6 can only dream about being.

Sell it for a V8 more power for less money V6 camaros are dogs I used to own one. Nothing beats cubic inch displacement. After all the mods listed you still are not going to out run stock 350. camaro SS it's get 300bhp stock and if the camaro has the slp package forget it.

A V6 will never have a LOUD Roar they sound ok with cat back systems and if you keep in under 2000rpm's once you take it above that it's a Honda civic. The V6 camaros are for looks only imo a killer looking car to drive to work and or take out on the town.

Now a z28 305 or SS350 LS1 that my friend is an engine and modded correctly can produce mass amounts of HP for less money and better results then a V6 so if you want the V8 roar I am afraid you can only get that from two extra cylinders.

Don't Waste your money on an exhaust for a V6 camaro. You don't do that, unless your a ricer. They're the only people I know of that put fart cans on a motor that's not a real motor. ...and that's not 'Growl', thats just makes it sound like a clown is driving up the street. If you want to 'Growl', start with a V8, then put an exhaust on that. Only way to do it.

Long-tube headers and a tune, without a doubt, ($850-$2000)will give you the greatest performance bang for the buck.

Don't bother with ST headers, they're a waste of money.

Headers also sound good too, although into a stock muffler, they may not be as loud as you like.

Delete the cats and replace them with a straight pipe, since it's really cheap to accomplish.

Porting the TB = minimal gains (4-5 crank hp)

CAI = minimal gains (4-5 crank hp)

Axle-back exhaust = minimal gains (4-5 rwhp if you are lucky) just buy some $300 flowmaster mufflers and be done with it if you just want noise, an axle back is one of the worst $ per hp mods you can do.

Hey enn d,

I think you may get quit a bit out of a book I bought on Amazon called "How to Tune & Modify Your CAMARO 1982-1998". I know your car is a 2002 but it does contain a lot of information on projects you are going to want to do with your Camaro. The 3800 engine actually has pretty good reviews with its horspower at 200. I would probably start at the exhaust system and get the performance chip for your computer.
I really don't think you are going to want to stop there, once you start modifing, your going to want to keep adding to it to enhance its performance.

your air box can be modified in lue of cold air intake. Enlargen opening where air comes in and forward face of it and install plate in the baffle tube. Get k/n airfilter. The throttle body has a air deflector you can buy that goes in at the 12 o`clock position to smooth out air flow. High flow catalytic converter 2 3/4 exhaust and muffler. 93ta owner

Please Save your money V-6 Camaro's with only 200 Hp. Are for driving to and from work. Flowmaster muffler is the only modification you need to do.

why are you wasting your time and hard earned money on a v-6??? save the money, buy a TPI 350, install, then come back and ask the same question about modifications.....
