I'm planning to stay up for about three-four days straight, as part of a self-organized study on sleep depravity and hallucinations. What, if any, have any of you experienced during sleep depravity...and how long can you go without sleep without getting too crazy?

I have. Stayed up straight for four days once. At least I think I did. It's hard to tell sometimes, as you may doze off and not realize it. As for hallucinations, I"m not sure that the things I saw didn't truly exist. It was in an extremely high stress environment in the jungle and even without sleep deprivation nights can be alive with all kinds of shapes and sounds. What I do remember just going through the motions and not giving a damn about anything.

I suppose you mean "sleep deprivation", not "sleep depravity"? Never tried it; however, in the Army, I would be on duty all day, then all night; sometimes I was allowed only a few hours sleep, then back on duty. It did not take long before I would hallucinate, but then, I have been diagnosed with narcolepsy.
Don't do this on your own; you might need medical attention. And, definitely don't drive or operate any machinery. Sleep deprivation tends to do strange things.
