I have noticed that most people who answer questions with really ugly comments have their email address blocked. I feel that if they are brave enough to make nasty statements, they should be brave enough to accept responses. I feel that Yahoo should not give anyone the option of blocking their email address once they join this site because that gives abusers the ok to make ugly and rude statements and laugh because they don't have to listen to responses.

Well the fact is most people who make mean and rude comments are just bored with life and themselves. They are unhappy or are so young that they feel that it is cute to act that way. I would ignore them and just let dumb asses be. I got several to a question or two that I asked. I show my e-mail and I will on occasion make a nasty and hateful remark. The reason is always because the question is rude or hateful, and I could care less. Yes I am a bit of an @ss hole, and even more so when someone is a fool or is rude. I agree I think everyone should have to have their e-mail available to people on this site. I mean you can just make up an e-mail that you only use for yahoo answers, I did. Yes I do sympathize with you on this issue, it is rather mean and uncalled for to say the least.

I block my email because I don't want to be stalked by rude, hateful, and hurtful people who can't separate discussion/debate from violent actions. What country do you live in? I'm in the U.S., where people get hurt every day for expressing their honest opinions. I would not participate if this forum allowed "anyone" to access my personal information, much less the email account(s) I use for school, investing, business, and/or correspondence with my friends. Yes it's a sad state of affairs, but for all I know, your smiling avatar hides the evil mind of the next Unabomber, or John Lee Malvo, or whoever. Why should I take that risk? I just want to answer some questions.

this country and the world contains a number of angry, ignorant, lonely people who spend their lives being rude. They hide behind their email. Those are people who I think take themselves way too seriously. They satisfy themsleves in some perverted way by being rude and ugly and obviously don't want two way communication. As much as you would like to choke them or at least be able to give them a piece of your mind..it is best to just skip over them and here is why. If you let them cause you to become upset then they have a command and control of your emotions. Why would you want to allow anyone to have that kind of influence on your life? You can't control them so why try. I will not allow anyone to have that kind of power over me. I am not being passive just realistic and calm.. They only become an issue, if you allow it.

there is merit in what you say, let the person who is rude/nasty/arrogant/unparliamentary in his communication have it in the language he/she uses and understands. however look at the broader picture, the site will end up with people exchanging foul comments and honing their nasty vocabulary, which is not the reason that most of us are frequenting the site. we visit the site to ask genuine questions and answer what ever we know. of course light humor at times is good for us which we read or send off and on. lets all vow to keep the site neat, friendly, educative and inquisitive for healthy and wholesome inter relationship

Unfortunately this is the only way these people have a voice. Usually these people who say hateful racist things are complex people who dont have confidence in themselves. Hiding behind a computer gives them strenght. Its all about getting attention.

There are so many vicious people around.....Unless they have moderator to in charge of every session of the threads. And like the forum setting, with warnings and use of instructions. Will they care?

I agree, but would you really want to waste your time replying to a bunch of immature neurotics?
