Well, let's see. In April 2007, Congress approved an Iraq spending bill that gave Bush every penny that he asked for -- Bush vetoed it and Republicans saw to it that the veto was sustained.

Since then, Bush has repeatedly threatened to veto legislation that Congress has proposed for the benefit of the troops. Those expenditures included pay raises and increases in survivor benefits.

As for which politicians would declare the war lost, how about Republicans like Luger, Warner, Voinovich and Domenici who have all very publicly criticized Bush's strategy, but then vote to continue the very policies they have denounced.

And, no, I'm not a Democrat; but I am fed up with the political double talk from politicians who don't have the backbone to say what they mean, mean what they say and vote accordingly.

And one more,

Just for all you people who answered Bush.....he did NOT vote to withhold money from our soldiers. That would be what Harry and Nancy etal. wanted to do.

Just to set the record strait...

Those idiots in congress voted to give Bush the authority to choose whether or not to invade ON HIS OWN. This was to give him leverage for the inspectors.

Whatever the case, Congress shirked their duty.
