When you run a deep route as wide receiver in practice. Stop and throw the ball back to the quarterback. Perfect spiral and on the nose.

After the play is called, inform other team members on offense what their assignments are. Ex. Remind the guard or tackle to block the inside corner of the defensive lineman.
Make sure the coach notices all this stuff. He may not be aware you are QB potential.

I was on a new baseball team and wanted to play shortstop. The coach put me in right field! The first ball that was hit to me, I threw the guy out at first base. The next game I was playing shortstop. Make your talents known.

You should be persistent with the coach and continue asking for a shot until he allows it. If the other player is better then you have to work harder than the other guy to stand out. Don't just ask for a shot tell the coach that you are a natural QB and work hard at it.

the best way to go about this situation is to tell your coach that you want to tryout for QB, but if u dont want to do that ask if u can play second string qb right behind the starter. sort of like a "relieve" qb. that way they can see that u have talent and if the current qb makes bad decisions during game-time you'll be next in line... good luck

well 4 one u already put ur self down by saying he is faster and stronger. 2 ur gonna have to tell the coach that u can play QB because how will he know and its better u tell him now during the summercamp then during the season when its to late and uve already lost a few games! now or never cowboy! and dont get down if he beats u out at first hes been there longer and has more expreince so keep at it alot of QB's dont start right away so jus practice hard and show your coach wat ur made of!

Maybe during warm-ups or playing scout team games you can offer to play QB and the coaches will see your talents. If not you might just have tell them that you would like to get a chance to play QB, but don't be an ****** about it.

Yes, I highly encourage you to join your high school football team next season. It will still not (yet) be too late for you to start playing football. Based on your height and weight, as well as your speed and ability to throw the ball, I believe that you will make a very good fit at quarterback. You have the ideal size for a high school junior quarterback. My best advice for you is to work hard and perform very well in practice every day. In addition, what you need to do this upcoming (and every) offseason is eat healthy, exercise by doing weight lifting, and either jogging or going for a long run every day. If you do these things, you will get faster, stronger, and into better shape, which will greatly improve your chances of becoming a successful, top notch quarterback in high school football, who could go on to play college football. By the way, your chances of playing college football depend on your performance in football during your junior, and especially senior, year of high school. If you perform very well in football during your final 2 years of high school, you will greatly improve your chances of getting recruited to play for a college football program in the future.

I imagine you have football practice coming up, right?

Talk to your coach and ask him to let you take some snaps.

If you are good enough, you will make a impression, maybe not enough to overtake the other QB at first, but injuries do happen, and you might be one snap from playing QB full time.

Talk to your coach.

You know, sometimes, you need to voice your opinion. After practice one day, approach your head coach and say it. Hopefully, if he has an open mind, he'll give you a shot. Get one of your friends at Wideout to throw to and run some routes. Even when you catch the ball in practice, Throw the ball back and put it right between the numbers. A good coach will listen.

Hey Jon.

That's the biggest problem I had in high school. I was 6'1" 200 lbs. I went to a really small school so they kept putting me at defensive end and offensive tackle and I wanted to play running back. I ran a 4.6 40. I was faster than the running back. I was better than him. But I never told the coaches. I never had the courage to. So, as one Gamecock fan to another... please tell them you'd like to get a shot at quarterback. You never want to face the regret that I now do. Good luck, my man.
