I got a bike one Christmas. In those days, they were just all one speeds. Get on, pedal. Step back on the pedal to brake.

Mine was used. Mom had paid a lady $5 for it. My big brother spray painted it bright red. It didn't even have grips on the handle bars, had a bit of rust. But that didn't matter. It was a real bike, and it was mine. I loved it. I named it.

My spoiled brat cousin got a bike that year, too. Hers was a brand new Schwinn. It was two toned brown, and she was mad because she'd wanted a blue one. She threw a real snit fit. I didn't understand her.

Hmmm, Dumbledore would be a pretty sweet Santa replacement. Obviously the thestrals could take the places of the reindeer. If you understand what I'm talking about, give yourself a pat on the back. Bonus Questions: 1. Do you believe in the adage "better late than never," such as asking a question about Christmas more than a week later? Yes, because the secular version of Christmas is my favorite holiday. Let's extend it as long as possible! 2. Did you have a happy holiday season? Yes yes yes! The most amazing boy in the world asked me out =D 3. Where did you spend the holidays? Home. I had a nice stay-cation. 4. Where do you think your favorite characters would be on Christmas Day? (or Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Festivus, fill in the blank holiday of choice?) Like, literary characters? Atticus Finch is my all time favorite fictional character. I think he's made the 'nice' list several times over... He's at home with Scout and Jem. (To Kill a Mockingbird) Holden Caulfield is naughty with a grain of nice. I imagine him roaming NY city on Christmas, looking for his lost childlike innocence and excitement about the holidays. (Catcher in the Rye) Bokonon can be on the "nice" list, because though he kinda ended the world with ice-nine, he only ever wanted to make people happy with his theologies. (Cat's Cradle) So many more, not enough room :P 6. How has 2010 treated you thus far? AWESOME! 2010 beng a pretty Sh*tty year for me, this years looking up. I counted down the minutes to the New Year on a videochat with my lovely boyfriend whom I acquired during the holiday season.

The best present was on my 15th birthday. I was given 12 sulfa tablets. That may sound odd but I was overseas at the time and suffering from dysentery. That reduced the disease enough that I was able to continue the trip. When I got back to the States, I was 5' 7" and weighed 100 pounds.

When I was 11 my grandparents bought me a victorian doll house and the kits to make the furniture. My Pop and I spent three years putting the interior together and now it sits in my daughters room where we can both appreciate it.
