Ok so me and my best friend want to go to london after graduation...only problem is...i don't know:
What the best hotels are
Where the best places to eat are
Best rates on hotel
Is it better to rent a car or take local transportation?
Best airfaire
I know i prob. need a travel agent but it would be great to know what time is best to go....sites i can see....etc.

Any info is much appreciated. Esp. from locals or those who have lived there.

Thanks so much!

Well im 18 too and i just booked tickets for london too! So i'll tell you what i found after many many days of search!
Dont go to any hostels! Loudy, dirty and with many drunk men asking you to "join" them. Im sure thats not what you want. I found a small and cozy hotel called Meridiana, very very cheap - check the website. I read the reviews and got only good comments and its on a good place too (near kings cross). Now i dunno about the air tickets, but i found aller retour 210euros in easyjet (booked now for Dec though). Just book them early! Also u'll definately need to buy London Pass with transport, so u'll know from the beggining how much money ur gonna spend! And buy the MUST 3-ticket "london EYE-london dungeons-madame tussaud's" from dungeon's site! chech the links! (i hope i helped u! GL to us :D )

I lived there 7 years, and never had a car. You do not need one and it's impossible to park, there are so many buses and the underground (Tube) is brilliant. But my advice, is when you are exploring central London, you should buy a pocket sized AtoZ (available everywhere) and WALK! That way you won't miss out on all the amazing sights. Summer is obviously the best time, and the biggest attraction, not only in London but the UK, is the "London Eye". Be warned though, London is very expensive. Have fun..........

I visited from CA...

I'm not sure about the best hotel, but I stayed in the Kensington Hilton and it was excellent, very posh. About 79 pounds a night. Remember to know the nearest station name to your hotel! It is very important. It is loads cheaper to take public transportation -- you will most likely want to take the Underground or the tube as it is called there, to get around. It's a very efficient system.

Best airfare.. Use a website sorry dunno which one is best. Best places to eat-- I'm not sure. I stuck with Italian restaurants. Much safer than pub food, ick! Shopping- there's tons on Oxford street. To do- Madame Tussauds, Hyde Park, Trafalgar square, the Tower of London.. so much to do!

Have fun!

Here's a great resource, it shows you the best sites to use for different types of travel.

It really depends on your budget what type of hotel to stay at, but try to utilize sites that show user ratings and expert ratings for hotels.

London is expensive - go for back packers hostels.
Public transport is good and much cheaper than hire cars.
The rest I can't say.
Have fun!
