My mom doesnt wear her engagment or wedding ring. I know my parents arent mad at eachother or in trouble. My dad doesnt wear his ring because he has a skin condition on his hands and the ring makes it worse. But i don't know why my mom doesn't wear hers and its bothering me. I don't want to ask because it would be awkward and put her on the spot.

She recently stoped wearing it. The only time she would take it off is when it might get rusted or damaged.

There is so many reasons....she could have gained weight, or lose weight, or do a bit of water retention...I'm sure it's something silly like that..just ask her!

Some women don't wear their rings because the setting of the engagement ring tends to get in the way when cleaning the garbage disposal and such. The setting of a lot of rings also snags cloth and can be a pain when dressing or folding laundry.
Another possibility is that she may be experiencing swelling of her fingers. She could be retaining water or have gained weight and the ring has become too tight and uncomfortable.
She could have also gotten a hobby or be doing something at work that could damage the ring or her hand if the ring gets caught up.
Either way, it doesn't seem to be a symptom of marital trouble and it doesn't bother either of them, so I wouldn't worry. You can just simply ask her. She probably wouldn't mind answering and easing your mind.

Ask her!
and by the way if the ring is gold it should not get rusted
she might just remove it because her finger grow bigger
at certain age a woman hand can become swelling sometimes
but the best think for you to do is to ask
Good luck

I don't wear mine all the time. Not looking for another man. Just don't. I take it off to weed or do something and forget to put it back on. My hubby doesn't wear his either and no he isn't looking either just out of habit I guess. Been married 11 years and we are happily married....It is just a ring. We know we are married and anyone who knows us know we are...so no big deal...Ask her if you want to know....

Your parents have been married for so long that they don't need to wear a ring to love each other or be married. My husband and I don't wear ours unless we are going out. Been married for just 7yrs!

Nothing wrong with her not wearing the ring. Her commitment to your dad has nothing to do with the wearing of the ring.

Ask. If she's not wearing her wedding ring, there is a reason. It may be a valid one, it may be that she is doing something she doesn't want you to find out about. Ask her when you are alone, and she's not 'on the spot', so to speak, but ask.

Just ask her in a casual way... "How come I don't see you wearing your wedding ring anymore, Mom?"
I'm sure it's no big deal. I never wear mine... I just don't like wearing rings. Sue me.

Every time I gain weight, my wedding ring doesn't fit. It's a good warning sign for me to lose weight. When I lose it, I put my rings back on. So, maybe your Mom can't get her rings on.

Oh come on, just ask her. I know that my knuckles are kinda big and once the ring gets over the knuckle it slides around.
