so i had this dream about my dog sunny, who was hit by a car. in my dream she came to me as a wolf instead of a seppala. and i asked her why she was gone and she just looked at me and said "it will be ok" then she raised her head, started to howl and looked to the right of me. i looked too and there was this car coming in the distance and right as it was about to hit her she vanished into the mist. then i woke up. i recently got another dog that my family absolutely adores but i still love sunny. can anyone interpret this?

it means you miss your dog. you don't have to wrack your brain over this one.

This is an anxiety dream. Anxiety dreams typically wake you up suddenly. Obviously you depended upon this dog, Sunny, for something. Did it pull sleds for you or was it just a good companion or even perhaps both. Since your mind needs to deal with this anxiety it creates a reenactment scenario and has a better outcome. Your wolf was Sunny, but Sunny is now different in that it is "FREE" from all the work that it did for you. So your mind associates wolves with freedom and your mind created the wolf who tells you that "it will be okay" and your next companion wont get hit by a car. You should listen to this wise wisdom from your own brain and "Let it go"

Im not a phsychic or anything but i have read alot about dreams and why we have them just because i am curious about the subject. Sometimes things happen..like this incident and we don't wanna let go especially if its a loved one. The mind provokes dreams of things that have happened and we still think about or things we would like to happen. I believe that you having this dream is just you yourself telling you that even though your loved dog has passed away it was all for a reason and it has gone into a better world, and that you will be ok. Hope this helps.
Also your mind is telling you that it is ok to love the new dog. Just because you love someone new doesnt mean you'll forget or stop loving the old one.

The trick with dream interpretation is the person that had the dream is the one who is truly capable of deciphering its meaning. What one symbol means to me, may mean a totally different thing to you.
Keep a dream journal by your bed at night. As soon as you wake up, write down all of the events in the dream that you can remember. As you go over your list, how does it make you feel? What do you think it means?
I also believe that spirits of the dead can and do come back to us in our dreams. We are capable of traveling into the Astral during sleep.

My personal take on your dream -
Sunny was comforting your guilt of the thought of "replacing" her with another pet. You felt like you somehow betrayed her and her memory. You also have a fear of getting close to this dog due to the pain of dealing with the loss of Sunny. She was letting you know she still loves you and she is doing fine. She was saying goodbye.

It's simple. Sunny came back to let you know she is ok and that you are going to be ok. Your brain just needed to say good-bye. I had a very similar dream about a much cherished cat. And it is ok to still love Sunny and love the new dog as well. They are both special in their own rights.

Well, according to dreammoods.com, wolves symbolize:

"beauty, solitude, mystery, self-confidence and pride. You are a loner by choice.....It may also reflect an uncontrollable force or situation in your life. In particular, if the wolf is white, then it signifies valor and victory. You have the ability to see the light even in your darkest hours."

BUT... on a website I frequently visit dedicated to animal totems (spirit animals and what they teach you), it says this about wolves: "Wolf teaches you to have a balance between the needs your family has of you and the needs you have for yourself. They are totally loyal to the pack but do not give up their identity to the pack. If wolf appears in your life you are being asked to look at where you are being too dependent and where you may be too independent. In both family and community dsthere needs to be a balance."

Dog, particularly yours, symbolizes loyalty and friendship. And to hear howling in dreams symbolizes loneliness. Have you been lonely lately? Maybe since she died? Or having troubles in general lately? Really sad? Cause it sounds like me like someone's comforting you, telling you it's going to be okay, that things will begin to look up again. Keep your eyes on the light at the end of the tunnel, not the darkness.

I believe this is Sunny's way of letting you know she is still with you in spirit. And watching over you. It sounds like she was a loyal and protective pet. We lost our family pet over 20 years ago. I still have dreams about her now and then. They are always very comforting dreams. I believe it is her way of telling me she is still with me. Just as Sunny is letting you know she is still close to you. I agree with the many answers you have already received, that Sunny is letting you know that she approves of your new dog and is happy for you and wants you to be happy with her "Stand In". I am sure she is happy that you have a new dog to give as much love as you gave her, and considers the new dog a very lucky puppy indeed.

I think the other responses to this question are really interesting. They say what I feel. You will miss her for a while, but eventually the memories will fade, and you will move on,
as Sunny is telling you in the dream.

It must mean that you should learn to love the new dog although you very much liked your old one , you should still try to like the other dog.

Losing a pet can be very sad and we humans tend to develop bonds with many things.......It is just part of our feelings.....we care.

In your dream the dog vanishes which means that you should not dwell in the past.........It is ok to keep a memory of your old dog. But this new dog now needs your help in taking care of him.

Good luck

Sunny is trying to comunicate with you and let you know she is still with you. One form or another she is still going to be in your life. If not in a touchable form she lives on in your heart, spirit and soul and is always a aprt of you forever more. Our dreams are the answers to our questions. If we listen to them we will learn a lot. Even though sunny is not there physically she is always with you my dear ... She wants you to know this. She is still loyal to you. She is like a spirit guide ... your personal angel if you will..

Animals transition very quickly. Sunny was communicating that she is coming back to you, so be on the lookout.
