Because it has decaying food matter in it, plus the process the body uses to break down the food is not pleasant-smelling. Meat-eater's poo smells much worse than vegetarian's because it is decaying flesh. (But on the other hand vegetarians generally fart more because of the gas-producing stuff they tend to eat!)
