I personally had the same problem. Slow drain in the tub.
I bought a forceps from a sporting goods store. They are like a little pliers, but clamp together. They are really long and thin so you can get down in there. Fishermen use them to remove hooks out of fish. Pinch on a clump and pull it out.

Yes, it's disgusting, but it worked fantastic. Now the water runs out as fast as the water is introduced.

Cost was less than $10.

Get a pair of gloves and unscrew the drain. Be ready,it's gross. But the hair slowly accumulates to a huge fur ball. Pull as much as you can with your hands(gloves on). then reach down a little further with tweezers or a small tip of a baby bottle brush and twist and pull. After removing as much as you can try running the water to see how much more open the line is. If you have some flow, don't stop there. Get Draino or Liquid plumber and pour a 1/3 of down the drain and let it sit over night. Make sure you run the water or shower in the morning to clear the chemical away so it doesn't back up and get on your skin. Then replace drain. Good luck.

you will possibly desire to purchase a drain auger at any community ironmongery shop for not a lot, or a closet auger in spite of the fact that if it somewhat is a rest room. Dont difficulty with liquid drain cleaners, many situations they dont artwork after which you have a sink packed with acid. With the drain auger, in basic terms do away with the p catch under the sink and run the auger down the drain to loosen the clog. If the clog is between the sink and the p catch in basic terms use slightly cord( and a bucket of path). in case you're actually not in a position to attain the clog with a hand auger then you definately might might desire to lease an prolonged one. good luck.

Try a good old fashioned plunger. Fill up the tub with enough water to use the plunger/ need to make a seal. If you have a stopper in your tub, close it and turn it out like a regular screw. The movement of the plunger is enough force to free up the hair, and you don't have to get your hands dirty. This method does not scratch or stain (chemicals) your bath tub

I just take some solid wire, like what you would use to hang a picture or slightly larger in diameter, and bend a small hook in the end. I then go fishing down the drain. It's amazing what you will pull up. Using a wire has the advantage of being able to reach all the way down to the trap, and it costs almost nothing.

You can reach in with a tweezers and pull out the hair after you uncover it. If the drain has a cover with a screw holding it unscrew the fastener and pick it up so you can grab the hairs. If the stopper is in the wall of the tub unscrew the plate on the tub sidewall and pull the stopper up so you can reach it and pull the hairs off.

Go to your local Ace Hardware and see if they carry a drain cleaner in a black bottle called "Liquid Drain Opener" made by Mr Roebic. Works GREAT on hair. I use it myself, as I have butt-long hair and 5 cats! :)

Pour about 1/ 2 bottle in at night, or after last shower of the day, let it sit until the next shower, it should be all clean!

I use a metal clothes hanger and a wire cutter to create a 10" rod with a hook at the end. The hook will grab the hairball and bring it up to the drain where it can be grabbed out with your hands.

You'll have to pull and tug for a while, but eventually you'll be able grab every last bit of it.

yeah.. i'm a 26 y/o single female and I figured this out on my own.. just pull the hair out with your fingers. You will have to use something small to get the hairball "started" but once you get to pulling on it, you can pull out all of the hair.
It makes you feel so good to get that hair out.. but it is gross!! It'll save you a TON of money on a plumber bill.
Also.. if you've got a wad of hair, no amount of draino is going to dissolve that much hair - you'll spend a ton of money on draino.... I tried it over and over again..

Any brand name chemical drain cleaner will take care of a hair clog. The gel types seem to work well.
