Just to give you an idea how i feel about that, i will tell you that i was a life guard at the university's olympic pool when "Jaws" came out and I quit the job. Never even waded in the ocean anymore. Sorry, but it really opened my eyes to something i never knew existed. Yeh, am no Eistein but i have both legs and arms.I will ride on a large steel ship on an ocean cruise so long as it isn't named for the uss indiana. those ugly suckers can chow down on sailors. i am with e. hemmingway, machinegun he ugly suckers. hope they don't become an endangered species like the spotted owl and the snaildarter etc. Poor things. Yes i do.

Yes life is about tkaing risks...you take a risk everyday. Milliosn of people get in a car crash abnd die but yet we still get out there and drive everyday. And what are the chances of a shark attacking you of all people in the beach? If you dont swim out to where you cant touch the ground you should be fine after all other people are there. I personally dont like the beach because i just don't but you'd have more chances of being stung by a sting ray than killed by a shark. Anyways we go out in the rain after we hera someone got struck by lightning..we drive after someone died in a car crash...we sleep in a house after we heard a house got robbed... we go in the woods after we hard people disapeared in there... and people keep being cops after many risk their lives everyday. so many buts and and's and but if's but without them there wouldn't be life. If we lived fearing everyhtign that could happen then we couldn't live our lives. So just go to the beach and have fun and when you return chose me as bets answer for giving you true advice =] lol

It is o.k. as long as you use some common sense.
Don't swim at dawn or dusk. These are feeding times for sharks. Make sure you swim with others or around lifeguards on duty.
Lets be honest here..your in their territory and anytime you go into the water anything can happen. To kid yourself and become lax in being cautious is a mistake.

Tom,
Yes I will, but I will not wear a swim mask again like I did the last time I went in the ocean. Believe me there are things in the water I really don't want to see again. It's better not to know what else is there.

Yeah I would. Don't get the chance to do it often, but every chance I get. Honestly I have a better chance of getting kidnapped by an inbred family and eaten in a cannibal frenzy than getting attacked by a shark.
