I like it so far and one of the reasons I like it is because the stories from GH: Night Shift and GH are completely separate. Jason, on Night Shift was never on trial for Alcazar's murder. He is doing community service at the hospital because he took the blame for something Spinelli did (or something that happened to him. Something to do with an unregistered gun but I missed that episode) When you're watching Night Shift it's a lot easier if you just forget about the story lines on GH.

The storylines of General Hospital and GH: Nightshift are totally different. Here is what the overview from soapnet says about the new series:
As the second spin-off to General Hospital, Night Shift will develop deeper into the relationships, friendships and medical cases seen at the hospital. Night Shift's stories will be self-contained and wrap up during each one-hour episode. Characters will be selected from General Hospital and will be mostly comprised of younger characters with ties to core families. It has also been stated that Night Shift's story lines will not intersect with General Hospital's.
Therefore, anything happening on the regular GH is completely separate from Nightshift. Hope this helps!

I love to see Jason on the show but i'm with you there. Night shift makes no since. Its like a totaly different soap opera. They don't play out any of the story lines so that they intertwine on the two shows. Something can happen like Spinelli can shoot himself but it won't be on the regular show. And how in the world can they have Jason in Pentonville on Gh and on night shift all he is doing is serving community service. I mean COME ON.

I like the new show but I think if they are going to use GH characters then they should keep the story going for them. To me it's like nothing is real on it because Jason is on trial during they day but out free at night. Love seeing him but what's going to happen when one of our regulars starts dating on Night Shift and have a whole different story on GH? It just doesn't make sense, when I first read about the show it said the stories would intersect but I guess they must have changed their minds.

Yea I am lost too. Is it a continuation of GH or a whole new show entirely that is the question. Spinelly had a gun in GH on NS he was shot so that ties together . Liz and Jason have a private son together so that ties together. But Jason is out of jail and on work release but not on GH. Then their are new nurses Dr's and Dr Drake Sr is not a rock star on NS. I don't think this show will go further than the 13 weeks.

I agree, I absolutley LOVE Night Shift but what confuses me is that I heard they're supposed to bring Brenda back to GH through Night Shift. Yet during Night Shift Jason's out of jail. I don't get it. But I do like Night Shift a lot. I wish it would go on longer.

yeah i read that the stories werent suppose to interwine and they are suppose to wrap up at the end of each show, but thats not the case!! the whole someone killing the old lady is continuing ( like a soap ) and so is someone mixing up files on purpose. And the nurses strike started by stan continued, and are only the people who watch regular GH suppose to be aware of the secret son he shares with Elizabeth?? because they make no indication that its his but they kinda act strange around eachother. ITs like you have to watch GH but you dont. Im just a little confused. Ok and i think Billy dee williams is an Angel or something, does anyone else feel that way???
