i think smaller fish can. try checking a pet website or googling it, becasue im not sure. i have heard stories of goldfish who ate their tankmates, so dont trust that little gold fish just yet! baby koi can, i have done that before in a small pond outside. with regular goldfish you should be fine with other fish, check the spieces though

Hello again! Practically no other fish makes a good tank mate for a Goldfish except for similar sized, similar types of Goldfish to the one(s) you already have. If you want something completely different Dojo Loaches are fine but to thrive they should be in groups of at least 2 so you will need an appropriately sized tank to house your community.

well basically fish that are not carnivours.. a fish like its own species will do fine..
