No WMD's, no terrorist training camps, no support of terrorists.

The war in Iraq was, is, and will continue to be wrong because it was never justified. Justified would mean the benefits outweighed the terrible costs in human life and human suffering that wars cause. This one is so far from justified it's ridiculous to even argue about it.

So much for republican moral and ethical superiority.

The "surge" is just another pathetic desperate attempt by Bush and his Republican supporters to get people to shut up about the war. They have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to any reasonable human being that they can not succeed in a country where they have been killing each other for centuries. Spreading democracy at the point of a gun will always be a foolish idea. We are dealing with people who said "We know where the weapons are they are in the north south east west region around Tikrit" ( Rumsfeld). Oh they also claim Iran and Syria smuggled the weapons out. Right I believe them on that when they have been wrong about everything else.

I disagree with you on the war not being justified. The reason is because I do believe that Hussein needed to be removed from power. However, I also feel that our continued presence there is unjustified. We have achieved our goals. Hussein is gone and the Iraqis have a freely elected government as well as a military to defend themselves. I just have a hard time believing this whole idea that the Iraqis would crumble in the face of terrorism that is being presented. I think if they are faced with a choice in their own destiny they will fight for themselves against terrorists.

the surge has a good probability of being reported as a success. This is because they timed it during the summer and when its 130 degrees in Baghdad everyone stays home its too hot to fight. Just like in the Revolutionary war. Fighting was called off on rainy days because you cant shoot well if it raining. It really shows the desperate need to kill someone if you can call a weather day.

You have a good point. However, a successful surge might help get us the heck out of there, don't you think? It would at least give the war supporters the chance to say, "Okay, we won. Now it's time to go home. See ya later Iraq."

Where do you get your facts?
WMDs were found--just not as many as they thought. Sarin gas was found by the barrels. Do a google search--you'll be surprised. Same with terrorist training camps. Just saying they didn't exist doesn't make it so.
Besides, regardless of whether it was right or wrong to go in, leaving now would leave the Iraqi people hanging. If you think the killing now is bad, try to imagine what the opposing factions will do to each other if we leave a destabilized Iraq now.
Ugh--I don't even know why i'm arguing with you about this--if you haven't figured these things out by now...

Will questioners like this never answer the question what happens if we Cut & Run? Both sides of the Alise voted to go into Iraq. They all appeared to believe that the Iraqi people wanted the US to enter their country to rid them of the tyrant Saddam. Even the beloved worthless president named Clinton wanted to get Saddam out. He also felt that Saddam had WMD's.

What will a Civil war do to the economy of the 1st World? What would igniting the oil fields of Iraq do to the environment? Who would be willing to be an Alie of the US in the future? No you don't ask let alone answer those type of questions. Does this bring into question the Lefts' superior intellect?

Disagree. It may change the outcome from horrific to simply terrible. Whatever the case, the Sunni Death Squads have been given the green light by the Bush admin to take over the Anbar Province.

The Surge has nothing to do about winning in Iraq. it's about buying more time for Bush to cut & run from the White House in 2009 so he doesn't have to take the fall for losing the iraq war.

That's good!! First, you people insisted that the surge was failing and a waste and asking what we Republicans were going to do now that even this surge wasn't working. Now, that the surge is working so well that even liberal news sources, like the NYTimes, can't ignore it any longer, you people insist that a "successful surge changes nothing." You're rich! You have a denial for everything!

Wasn't it just a week ago conservatives were saying it would be impossible to judge the success of the surge until September?
