rational numbers are numbers in radical
irrational numbers is not the same as the logical word irrational
there is no such thing as irrational numbers . . it might mean integer
so your statement is is not logical and is not wrong
you are just asking

It depends on what you're doing.

People who say the solution to x^2 = 2 is "1.41421356. The end. Because my calculator says so." should be smacked. And people who say that pi is 22/7 should be smacked twice, and twice as hard.

But at the same time, it's impractical in the real world to tell somebody to build a pipe "36π inches long".
