When Culpepper becomes a Raider by signing a 1-year contract (which he will, thanks to DeMarcus Russel's agent) do you think the Raiders will move out of the cellar?

If he does sign he will start maybe four games. The Raiders are just letting him work out because they are trying to get Russel to sign soon and when Culpepper signs Russel won't be far behind. The Raiders are trying to get Russel to sign for less guaranteed money then he wants. Don't think it's because of Russel's agent that he hasn't signed yet, Russel's agent works for him not the other way around Russel could agree on the contract offer he has but he wants more money players have alot more to do with a holdout than the agent

To anyone saying Demarcus Russell - it's JaMarcus Russell. The Raiders better get it together because this kid's the real deal. Culpepper? Are you kidding me?

Culpepper is just the man to finish the Raiders demise. He'll put them so deep in the cellar they may never get out.

culpepper's in a decline. plagued with injures, the last year with the vikings and only year with miami didn't go that well. even when he was healthy with the dolphins, he still had poor performances. yet having culpepper on the team with rookie jamarcus russel will allow russel to get insight and experience from the veteran culpepper. i don't know if starting russel right away will be good, but culpepper has to prove himself worthy of a starting quarterback job. if he sucks, he can be replaced mid-year by russel, and will have taught by culpepper the ropes by then. starting russel that early may ruin his year, so send culpepper, cross your fingers, and you can always replace him with russel.

so yea, i think that by mid-year they'll be in better shape and 2-6

Well he is officially signed for 1 year now and to be honest with you, the only thing I have to say about it is... he's a couple months too late LOL. Remember when Culpepper was leaving Minnesota, Oakland worked him out because they wanted to rejoin the "Moss and Pepper Show"? How Ironic is it that when Oakland officially parts ways with Moss, they finally decide to sign Daunte. I will never understand the methods of Al Davis.

I don't think he will. This is just a ploy by the Raiders to get Russel into camp soon. He won't be a Raider because they can't block for him and since he can't run anymore, that would be career suicide.

Aaron Brooks was supposed to bring the Raiders out of the cellar, and that obviously didn't happen.

well, he will resembale a vince young type of situatuion. He iwll teach Young how to become a all-pro player and will give the raiders some wins until jamarcus russell comes and uses his learning and bcomes oaklands franchise player.
