I had about the same problem 4 months ago. I had a piece of junk computer holding 3,000, or so, of my songs. I was worried that it would crash on any day of the week and all my music would be lost. I wasn't prepared to go through that so I bought an external hard drive (EHD). If you haven't heard of one before it's the the memory for a computer taken out and put into a portable box, if that makes any sense. But this way I have all my music on the EHD and it's safe and I can put it on any computer I want. To do so takes some time though. First you have to buy one and depending on how much memory you want they can become a little pricey but in my mind they're are well worth it. Next install it and hook it up to your computer. Now you have to follow some instructions to do so the following website will help you with that...

It is somewhat risky to do. I didn't lose my music but there is a small chance you might. I found that chance was well worth it. Now I have much more space on my computer and no worries of losing my music. you can also put other things on this EHD like documents, pictures, basically your whole computer! It's like a enlarged flash drive. Hope you find what you're looking for!

Uh. I think you can burn to a CD. Or put it on a key-thingie. You know the stick like things that you put in the same spot as the iPod.

Yes, not only what was just mentioned, but you can actually burn the files onto a CD-R disc as files, not songs, which can be played only on a computer, as long as it is MP3 format.

You can get a 1 GB flash drive from basically any store (Best Buy, Target, etc.) and store your songs and videos on that.
