Racist Advertising/America?

Why is it that every commercial has a black male in it nowadays. I thought we were striving towards equality in our society. I'm so sick of seeing the black males being portrayed as the mature, cool, level-headed people while the whites are the ones acting foolish. Where are the hispanic women, asian men, middle eastern women in the commercials>>>???? Ohh yeah we dont have that because we owe so much to black males. For their proportion in terms of societal numbers, they are way over represented in both tv and movies. You stupid f*cks will call me racist,, but you know what, your the ones who are blind if you cannot see the under representation of other races. Ohhh yeah, affirmative action is rediculous too,,,, what happened to the notion in america,, "the best man for the job"

Why are you blaming the black man, why don't you go whine to the person who is doing that. Why don't you go and shout out to whomever is creating the commercial and tell that person that you would like to see more races.

I'm of two minds as to what you said about blacks always being portrayed as level-headed and mature. If you're in the US, turn on the TV: Chances are you'll see, for example, a commercial for "Who's Your Caddy" or that new movie with Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan... the media usually only wants to portray blacks as sideshows who go around talking about being black and saying dumbarse things like "You can't be black, there's a height requirement."

It's just advertising. Some commercials are designed to appeal to black customers, others are designed to appeal to white customers, or men, or women, or parents, etc. I understand that there is black racism, so I guess that those commercials reflect this racism more than it reflects the views of the company that put out the commercial.

I got a kick out of when Jesse Jackson complained that there weren't enough black NASCAR drivers. I m no NASCAR fan, but this is ridiculous. As if NASCAR wouldn't put a good driver behind the wheel just because he is black.

It would be just as silly for not having enough white players- as white players are FAR underrepresented in the ranks of professional basketball players.

As far as white and blacks in commercials, have you noticed that even more so, commercials show men an inept and incompetent buffoons, while women are always shown as in control, intelligent, and well organized. Now that really frosts my cookie.

i don't know what commercials or movies or tv shows you look at, but i see the opposite. i am tired of looking at black men always being portrayed as the gangsta, pimp, player, cheater

but what really makes my stomach turns when i see white boys desiring to be that black person. or listening to white girls talk about how big their butts are, injecting their lips with shi+ to make them look bigger.

wat the hell are you talking about. the only time i see black faces in commercials is when im watching BET, TV One, or UPN. most times its white people. i have seeen more black ppl in commercials nowadays which is a good thing because generally black is not shown as beautiful in the media. i never see asians though.. moreso asian males. and there are a few hispanics but not really. white people need to stop complaining. i mean damn cant you learn to fukin share. do you really have to dominate everything.

The people in these commercials represent the advertisers' target market. Black Males are obviously who they are after.
What is Affirmative Action? I haven't met anyone who has benefited from it.

But:
As far as "AFFIRMATIVE ACTION" goes, it's BULL ****!!

How do you accept a job knowing that your only getting it because of the color of your skin?? I know men trying to get jobs and were told straight out "Your more qualified and tested better, but we are required by law to higher non-whites at this time!"

That sound more like REVERSED RACISM TO ME!!
