You'll need to locate what's attracting them. Could be a breeding place something in your yard. This happened to me until I located rotten duck eggs under my house. Cleaned 'em up and the flies left.

I saw a house that had water in sealed plastic storage bags (sandwich size) and the bags were thumb tacked to the outside door way right above the door and above windows. I asked the people that lived there and they stated it keeps away from the house. The also had milk jugs fill with water around their yard. While i was there i did see any flies. I personally haven't not tried, but when i was telling my friend she said her neighbor also had the same thing and she decide to try it and is fly free.
I want to know what it is that keeps the flies away but no one know. I guess if it really works i would really need an explanaiton.

There may be something else around there besides your dog attracting the flies. One thing to make sure is that your outside garbage can isn't nearby. Things like that attract flies, as well as if your dog doesn't finish his food, that will too. And also the person above me has a great point, if he's doing his business close by...And bug zappers STINK BAD

I spray the outside of my house with bug killer, the indoor--outdoor kind and use a bug killer for lawns. Just take the dog for a walk right after you spray. It doesn't affect my pets. Flies are attracted to pet food. You should make sure not to feed the dog more than he will eat.

The water in the baggy with a couple of pennies seems to work for small areas, like a porch.

I don't know where they sell them. But it's called a fly trap. The flies are attracted to the trap and they go in but don't come out. Good Luck!

There are theories as to why this works and I've heard from many people that it does...Take several ziplock bags, fill them with water, and tape them anywhere you want to repel flies--on doorways, on tables, etc...

I believe the water in the bag makes their compound eyes irritates and keeps them away..It's worth a try!

i might might desire to declare your neighbor has the two jap Beetles or June bugs. Seeing as you reside in long island i'm leaning greater in the direction of June bugs, nevertheless somewhat early for the jap beetles up there. tell him he can the two call a community landscaping organization and that they might come spray or visit a community ironmongery shop (lowe's, abode depot and so on) and purchase a Bag-A-trojan horse kit. it somewhat is a bag with bait which you dangle and the beetles and june bugs are attracted to it. in spite of the indisputable fact that, it does entice them so greater are probably to come back and discover it. we've our jap cherry tree, crepe myrtles, lorapetalum and holly trees sprayed each 3 hundred and sixty 5 days and it expenses approximately $35. it particularly is a million tree and 14 trees well worth, so his may well be greater or much less.

Odds are they're finding something to eat besides the dog. Remove all sources of food, especially if it means moving the dog's food bowl somewhere else. You could also fog it too - just like mosquitos.

I think that you've got to clean up that doggie doo that's attracting the flies in the first place.
