Personally, I would definitely enjoy a good horror novel! I also love the idea of supporting a young author because I was one myself. Currently, there is a large demand for the horror genre in mainstream publishing, so it's good that you picked horror!
As for getting published, there are plenty of publishing companies who are currently looking for science fiction and horror novels. Here's a good site where you can find lots of agents who represent horror and can negotiate a good deal with a company (I actually found an agent from this site so I know for sure it's good).

If you get published, let me know! I'd love to read your novel!

Planning to get published is a great goal. My advice as a 34 year old horror writer is to do it the old fashioned way... I'm getting ahead of myself...
Writing is great therapy. When I'm angry, frustrated, sad, or whatever I might be feeling, I pour it into my writing. I have a twelve year old daughter, and I know emotions run high at that age, so I recommend using what you're feeling to write a good story. I began writing at the age of nine, and I believe that every person has something to offer to the world. If you are a born writer and you believe in yourself, great things could happen. The most important thing is to write every day, even if the result is something you aren't proud of. Writers are born, not made. The stories are there, waiting in dark corners for you to discover them. If it is meant to be, the words will come to you in the perfect order, and then you'll share them with the world.
Good luck, young horror writer. You'll get there.

That would depend entirely on what it was about and how it was written. Just a word of advice to you. You should say you plan to try and publish the book ... just writing a book isn't a guarantee someone is going to publish it for you. Be ready for a lot of rejection. That is the nature of the business. Pax - C

If my 12 year previous had to make certain twilight i might enable her. the author and publishers agree that the e book is for human beings 12 and up. this is approximately vampires yet no longer in the classic way. No blood replacing, no intercourse. there is not any ingesting or smoking in touch in the sequence the two. the two considerable characters Bella (human) and Edward(vampire) are in love. actual love. They do communicate approximately if vampires could have intercourse and if he and her might sometime. Its no longer picture and that i do no longer even think of that the be conscious intercourse is reported in the process the verbal substitute. I fairly have a pal who's daughter examine the full sequence. She reported whilst her daughter grew to become into interpreting it she felt greater delicate speaking approximately whilst this is appropriate to have intercourse (in later books its reported that Edward would not have faith in intercourse in the previous marriage) base line examine some comments and synopses and in case you nonetheless are not confident approximately it examine the e book your self. additionally in the journey that your daughter isn't mature then in step with risk she could choose yet another e book. **** success.

Can't be worst than most recent Hollywood Horror movies. Seems like the scripts have been wrote by 4 years old dyslexic chimpanzees.

no i don't think a 12 year old would be good at writing things that really scare people. and i'm not saying i could either, i'm only 16. But if you are marketing towards kids your age, then you might end up being sucssesfull. just don't write a book for adults, write something that you yourself would enjoy.

I wouldn't spend too much time on research, and don't spend any money on publication, cause your mom and dad will be the only ones buying the book.
Instead work on the craft of doing it right, and enter a couple of contests. but don't give up. You're just too young to worry about publication yet.. work at the basics and DO NOT GIVE UP if you want to write... do it right.

if it were published and I got a copy for free.
Be warned, you shouldn't just hand out copies to anyone for copyright reasons. You need to trust the people who are reading it. If there is even the slightest chance that someone might have a copy and might try to publish it themselves and fight you for copyright...no one will touch it.

How many words?
And most importantly, is it good.
P.S. I'm 13 and I wrote a 40,000 word novel. But I don't want to publish it, I'm really private about that stuff. But why did I write it?
