Ferret smell depends on three things.

1. The quality of the food.
The Marshall's brand is horrible. And you don't want anyting that contains fish. A balanced raw diet helps with odor alot as well.

2. Cleaning
If litterboxes aren't cleaned daily they'll smell. Also bedding should be washed at least weekly.

3. Bathing
Don't overbath. The more you bath a ferret the more you strip its coat of natural oils. That puts the skin into production overload, and will also cause them to smell more.

THey do smell- bad! Very few people like the smell, ferrets are part of the SKUNK family and there is nothing you can do about it.

Please do not bathe your ferret- it is not necessary and will not help.

Their smell is something you just deal with or don't get one....simple as that. They are a ton of work, so good luck!!

You can keep the smell from the cage down by providing CLOTHING/CLOTH for bedding, and then washing it each week. Also, keep litterbox clean (they poop constantly).

do not bathe them too usually (as quickly as each and every 3 months or so at maximum) they say that ferrets will produce greater oils after being bathed...greater scent. No ferret is ever a hundred% muddle experienced. I quite have 2 muddle packing containers in my ferrets cage, besides as 3 of their play room. in case you will locate the place they are going, placed a muddle container in that spot. once you sparkling the pans, do not sparkling them too good. you nonetheless want the ferret to be waiting to sniff the place he has long previous. yet do sparkling quite nicely the place he isn't think to pass (desire it is sensible)

There is a spray that you buy at the pet store, you put about two squirts in there water bottle every time you change it, and then their pee and **** almost has no smell.
We used it for years, worked great.
Its called BIO Look for it next to the ferret food and vitamins.
