Skin shedding is normal, as long as it isn't in excess. If your turtle is shedding an excessive amount of skin, it could mean one of two things: Either the water is too warm (should be kept between 78-82 degrees, I believe), or your turtle is being fed too much protein. Try feeding him more veggies such as collard greens, sweet potato and carrots. Good luck!

Yes they do shed, but it is more like a peel. There are lotions and such you can rub on you turtles shell. Whats important to remember is not to pull on it. Turtles are usually all wet so we do not see it, but it is there. It is more visible in tortoises and box turtles. Good Luck

Yes, they shed their skin and shell. It is a good sign showing that he is growing. It does get a little "gross" but its normal. Keep the tank extra clean and any skin that comes off needs to be removed but dont take it off for them let it fall off. Usually excessive shedding is caused by warmer water temperatures (now that its summer some places lol) and they get the warmth they need to get rid of extra skin.

Yes, the skin comes off as they grow. That's nothing, they also shed their shells. If you ver find little things floating that feel and look like a fingernail, they are growing.

Minor shedding is normal and healthy. A lot of shedding is stress-related- usually it is getting the wrong care.
