Stress can definately cause it. Natural redheads tend to lose the color from their hair early too. Many dark haired people will get streaks of gray at their temples early, which makes them look very distinguished.

Supposedly if you have enough copper in the vitamins and mineral compounds you take it will help to retain your natural color. Not sure how accurate this is though . It's just something I read someplace a while ago.

I believe stress could be a factor. Although my oldest son had a patch of gray hair that just appeared when he was about 4 or so. Then it disappeared a few years later. That had never happened to anyone in my family previously.

Usually, it's genetics. I don't know how far back you've looked in your family tree, but I'm sure you'll find someone else in the family that has grayed early. By the way, one of the most attractive men I have ever seen was solid gray when he was 20 years old. :)

It's heredity. I had a lot of gray by 25 and my sister was fully gray at 18.Check aunts and uncles and their parents and grandparents.
