Ummm I would have to say my mother Mangomiata is the worse problem America is facing!

Now the honest answer:
The worse problem in America is stereotyping by far. Americans stereotype way too much. Yes gay marriage is a political problem, but who are Americans to judge who people are. Yes there is a lot of Terrorism in the world and yes many are Islamic, but that does not mean all Islamic people are and that doesn't mean every time an American sees an Islamic person that we should label them or anyone for that matter. Everyone is a human and we all have to get along or this planet will not survive. So by stopping stereotyping then many problems, including political, economic and sociable, will be eliminated.

I would say complete disrespect. We now days have no respect for others, elders and the world we live in. Kids run wild and parents don't/can't do much about it. I am also having an issue with the amount of child molestation going on and the killings. People no longer respect themselves and the people around them. I think the only solution would be more/stricter punishment. I am a believer of do onto others as you would have done to you. So if you murder then you get murdered and if you rape then you get raped and so on.
I may end up with some thumbs down on this one but you know if you really think about it, all is true and it is sad.

Common courtesy and respect for one another dying. When people don't extend the small decencies to each other which are used to acknowledge that other person's existence, then it becomes increasingly easier to disregard them as having worth when it comes to larger issues.

When the small things are ignored, the big things topple.

Ignorance has to be the biggest problem, both in the government and in the status quo. It slows progress, stops understanding of the next person, and creates a lot of room for racism and violence.
