It's a fact.
Ive been fortunate enough to travel through out the world, and majority of people specially Europeans resent US's policies to wards the countries which contain natural sources or are in America's best interests one way or other. And they hate it more, when some Americans and nationalists, like the ones here!! try to divert the fact!!!!

Four points:
1. As the world's greatest superpower, America COULD simply occupy those spaces without asking permission
2. We have left EVERY country that has asked us to leave
3. Our use of land in those countries is considered a quid pro quo; i.e., it is in OUR strategic interests, but at the same time we provide those countries with protection
4. America is a defender of freedom, not an aggressive force on the world's stage; i.e., we are no threat to any country except the most radical and fanatical

there are foreign troops on American soil as we speak, so what's your point. people in this country don't like that we have a military let alone bases here or anywhere, so it would stand to reason that people in other countries wouldn't want our troops or bases there.

1. Oh well... that's what treaties are about... many of those countries are too cheep to provide their own security and protection so it is a symbiotic relationship
2. No.. there would be no benefit... It would by like using a Chihuahua as a guard dog for Superman...

Why would we let any one set up inferior bases in America?
Their mainly peed off at the fact that our boy scouts could kick most of their aspes.
Plus , pure embarrassment for having to be protected.
Not to mention, how would we feed their people with their own governments steeling what we send to them, if we didn't have our own bases?

They're not there to impose American laws on those countries. They provide security. It's like having free security force. I wouldn't mine if foreign country's armed forces come and help out during flood or whatever. Or guard borders. It's free. I doubt anyone can afford to do such thing for us. For free.

Well since Bush removed our base in Saudi Arabia to make things easier on the Saud Royal family and placate bin Laden, that would have to be a "Yep"

Most places are glad to have bases in their countries. It makes them safer and creates more money for their economy.
