I'll have to say the Los Angeles Dodgers for both questions.
Every player in the starting line-up is batting around .280 or above.
They are second in team batting with .277, just one percentage point behind the Phillies in the NL (tied for sixth with the Red Sox overall).
&
Third in hits and on-base percentage in the NL.

The best offensive team in the National League is the Philadelphia Phillies. They have Chase Utley who bats .336, they have Ryan Howard who's hit 29 home runs and has 86 RBI's, they have Jimmy Rollins who's scored 90 runs, and they also have Shane Victorino who has 32 steals. They have every catagorie covered on the offensive side. Unfortunately they have terrible pitching and they are in a very strong division with the NY Mets and the Atlanta Braves. They won't make the playoffs this year because the Braves will win the division and the Mets will get the wild card and simply because they don't have the pitching to keep up.

The Phillies have the best offense in the NL. It's really not even close.
They are top 3 in virtually every offensive category in the league, including #1 in hits, runs, doubles, walks, batting average, OBP, slugging percentage & HBP.
I'm sure people will argue their home park aids in those stats, but their home/road splits are virtually the same across the board.
However, I would say the Braves are probably the team to beat especially after the acquisitions of Mark Teixeira, Octavio Dotel & the 2 lefties in the pen.

either Phillies or Mets; Dodgers might have best defense team than their offense with Nomar, Luis, Jeff Kent. Dodgers lost Drew to Boston Red Sox. Remember, the four Dodgers players hit four back to back home runs last year that lead Dodgers win the game against San Diego.

1.Mets, they have speed, power and contact hitters up and down the line-up
2. Philadelphia - Speedy guys like Victorino, Rollins help compliment guys like Howard, Utley and Rowand. They have 5+ guys on there line up that can kill you on any given night.
3.Chicago Cubs- Ramirez,Lee, Soriano can all hit 30 home runs. They have decent speed with Soriano and Theroit. They have what i think is the deepest team in the league with players like Mark Derosa, Cliff Floyd and Daryl Ward,Matt Murton,Jacque Jones, being able to play multiple postions and provide a presence off the bench. The only position that isn't putting up a good season is catcher.
4.Los Angles- The dodgers have good speed with Furcal and Pierre batting early in the line up and have alot of veterans who can hit like Gonzalez, Garciaparra and Kent. Mix in a few of the younger guys coming up and this team will be dangerous come play off time if the pitching can hold up.
5. Cincinnati- Tons of Power and plenty of RBI threats Phillips,Hamilton,Griffey,Dunn. Guys like Conine and Freel continue to be good players but a lack of consistency kills this team.
6.Milwaukee- They were hitting amazing at the start of the season. Weeks, Hardy and Fielder were all hitting up to there potential. But as of late they've been playing like the Brewers and even Fielder has been in a slump over the last few weeks. If this team continues to play the way they have over the last month they might go from 1st to 3rd by the end of the season.

Before the break, our offense (d-backs) was WEAK. But since then we've been killing it. With the exception of that last game against the Braves (DAMN YOU HERNANDEZ), we've been impressively outscoring our opponents. Haven't really had a chance to catch to many NL West games, cause I'm stuck in Florida. But from what I can tell the NL West is definately the scoring conference. And we have 3 games with San Diego starting tonight, then 3 games with your Dodgers after that. We gotta tight race going on so we'll see.

Dodgers all the way! You don't need 2 hit the long ball every inning to put up runs. With the perfect blend of young players and veterans, the are the best!
