There is so much disagreement on this board usually based on lack of proof one way or another, I just wondered if anyone of you took anything on faith.
It appears many of you do after all.

I believe in karma and I will tell you why. If you believe that doing good deeds will bring the same in return it creates a self fulfilling prophesy in many cases. When you associate yourself with positives influences, you tend to receive positive rewards in return because of that association. Contrary to that if you associate yourself with negative influences the inverse tends to be true.

I also believe in God. The reason for this is because I choose to believe that the universe is not a random occurrence. Something had to set it in motion. What I don't believe in is the teachings of any organized religion. The reason is because this is a creation of man and wholly fallible in nature.

A tentative 'No', but science may yet uncover more secrets.
It seems that science has already disproved gods. If something has never been observed in any sense, and science hasn't seen it nor has any possible explanation for something, then it doesn't exist, especially if its existence represents a total violation of natural laws.
We humans are the greatest known objects of nature in the universe. We will be until something greater tells us otherwise.

BTW- Oxygen was verified by science. People didn't believe in it until science proved it.
Televisions, jet planes, etc. did not exist 200 years ago. They were created by humans. Things that do not exist can be created by thinking beings.
Consider that the only inanimate objects in existence that are self-propelled are man-made vehicles. All nonliving things in the universe that are in motion were set in motion by some prior explosion. They only continue to move because of their momentum, which they received from the Big Bang. Therefore, all nonliving objects in motion were put in motion by the Big Bang or by man.
Is this a political question?

Yes. I believe in God, who created all life and I believe Jesus was his son, who was crucified, died and rose from the dead on the 3rd day so that we could be reconciled with God. I also believe in oxygen - and I thank God he put it in the air we breath. I can't see it, but I know it's there, cause I'm still living.

Faith. Whether it is in a spiritual being, or that your train will be on time, or that your grass will be greener than it was last year.

Yup Faith. Gotcha covered on that one but tell us how us Christians are bad.
