I heard laws are being decided upon whether the government will start tracking down peoples computers, the locations they're hooked up at online, to tell where everyone is located at? When will this officially begin? I'll bet it's already been happening.

I don't have anything interesting enough on my computer for the government to be interested in. They're welcome to look. And if they want to upgrade my software while they're at it, I'd appreciate it.

Firstly it has to be passed as law. This can take quite a while, but if it is in relation to homeland security then it will get passed relatively quickly.

I think it is already happening and not just with computers but with our phone calls as well. Whenever I talk to my mum in Canberra the phone clicks in and out all through the conversation so we make up stories and say "i know you are monitoring the call" - after this is said the phone usually clicks out for a last time

its already happening, infact I remember getting a government spy in my computer. Or it was horrible coincidence, everytime I go to this law site which is one of my reference for my Law and Economy projects. In my computer is a spy just noted as Gov.spy and my anti virus description just says. "Vital to your computer, do not delete!"

I know that was a load of bull, especially since Norton says to delete it, obviously I deleted it O.O and it didn't come back until I was checking my references to see if the links work...

But yea most likely they will(well continue just this time it won't be illegal lol)

EDIT: at above "I don't have anything interesting enough on my computer for the government to be interested in. They're welcome to look. And if they want to upgrade my software while they're at it, I'd appreciate it."

True but something about being watched even if I don't have nothing to hide is creepy...(well I do have something to hide, probably might be my subscription to a magazine with some kind women on the cover, =])

If the govt tracks you that's one thing. If Big Bad Al taps into your phone line illegally that's another thing. If Joe Banana and his bunch slip you a virus and your 'puter crashes and burns that is still another. But when you order something from the government that never arrives and you keep getting solicitations from business' that have somehow managed to get your personal info from them, then it's time to do battle. Anybody out there ready to bare arms with me?

I think they have a system that monitors traffick and certain words like President and bomb in the same sentance. think the same is true for cell phones when certain key words are said together they start to listen in, so if I said there was a plot to kill the president and the Queen of England I am sure the message would get intercepted somewhere!!

umm, properly monitoring them down does not be recomended in case you alredy have the transport handle, yet 8k well worth of stuff. you will possibly desire to seek for suggestion out of your mastercard organization approximately discovering counsel on a thank you to have them expenses bumped off. and the fbi isn't necessary, (in case you alredy know the transport handle) and america can not do something approximately it, if it somewhat is foreign places. except have been close pals with that united states of america i assume.
